About Red Balloon-Warwick
This is a very exciting time for Red Balloon-Warwick. In April 2011, we received our DfE registration and are now busy in discussions with Local Authorities identifying potential students.
The Red Balloon-Warwick community works together to recover students from the effects of bullying and reclaim their self-esteem. Situated in a comfortable country home near Warwick we take severely bullied students between the ages of 11 and 17 who are already out of school and missing education from a wide area across Warwickshire and Oxfordshire and from diverse backgrounds.
At the Centre each student negotiates his or her personal learning plan which includes, English, Maths, Science, Art, ICT, Citizenship, PSHE and therapy sessions. In addition to this if a request is made for any other subject area we are usually able to accommodate it.
In this relaxed, secure and supportive community students learn to recognise their own and others’ feelings, and to appreciate the impact of their behaviour on others. Our students follow an integrated programme to learn about their rights and responsibilities in the wider community in order to develop into active and engaged citizens. Once recovered we support our students in their return to mainstream school, their move to college or into employment.
