Red Balloon – Cambridge students and staff enjoy boat trip on the Cam

Students and staff of Red Balloon Cambridge were delighted to be invited to spend an hour on a house boat.  Archie Ferguson, a volunteer at Red Balloon – Cambridge and the owner of the house boat, had been working with several students over the last school year doing gardening work, playing board games and introducing them to life on the River Cam. With some of the students leaving this term to return to mainstream school, Archie offered to organise a boat trip. Students and staff had the opportunity to see inside the boat and, under supervision, to steer a course on the River Cam. Another highlight of the trip was having cake for lunch – as one of the staff members had accidently packed cakes instead of sandwiches.
