Cambridge Building Society Busy Bees raise funds for local causes
The night, which was organised by the society’s Busy Bees fundraising team, was in aid of the Cambridge Red Balloon Learner Centre, Camsight, the Elizabeth Coteman Fund and the Cambridge branch of the Samaritans.
All four charities were on hand to receive their donations during a presentation on Tuesday (november 16) at the society’s headquarters in Newmarket Road, Cambridge.
The Race night was held on October 6 at The Cass Centre, Cambridge University Press and was attended by staff, clients, suppliers and supporters. As well as the chance to win (or in some cases lose) money for a good cause, everyone had the opportunity to bid for one or more items in the auction, which was held during the interval.
Carole Charter, marketing manager at the Cambridge Building Society, who helped to organise the event, said: “The race night was a great way to raise monies as part of our annual Busy Bees fundraising activities. Everyone had a wonderful time and the staff worked exceptionally hard to make it a really good night.
“I’m very grateful to all our guests for giving up their evening – and their money – to help these worthwhile causes. And thank you to those who were unable to attend but sponsored races or donated auction prizes.”
