A new arrival at Red Balloon - Cambridge
When two of our students and Zoe, our science teacher, came back from a local Garden Centre they weren’t alone. To everybody’s surprise and delight they had brought back with them a lovely female hamster. Zoe, who had found an old Hamster cage, had asked the students to select a hamster. This proved an extremely difficult decision as the hamsters were all equally cute.
Having brought the hamster back to the Centre the next challenge was to choose a name. After a lot of discussion it was decided to gather names in a box and give each student three votes to select their favourites. The shortlist comprised: Shostakovich, Princess Beyonce, Nora, Gizmo, and Dora. We are delighted to announce that our hamster will be called ‘Gizmo’ from now on.
Students will be allowed to take ‘Gizmo’ home for the weekend when they will be responsible for cleaning her cage, feeding and looking after her. To make it fair a ‘Hamster –Rota’ has been introduced.
