2nd National Red Balloon Golf Day – 15 May 2012
2nd National Red Balloon Golf Day – 15 May 2012
Following the success of our first National Golf Day, held at Woburn Golf Course in May 2011, we are delighted to present our Second National Golf Day in aid of Red Balloon Learner Centre Group. All proceeds from the day will be used by Red Balloon to further our work recovering severely bullied children through the provision of short-term educational and therapeutic programmes.
The event will take place on the Marquess’ Course and Duke’s Course at Woburn Golf Club, Milton Keynes. Opened in 2000 the Marquess’ Course is referred to as the ‘Jewel in the Crown’. Set in 200 acres of mixed woodland it has twice hosted the British Masters. The Duke’s Course hosted the British Masters for 20 years and its famous third hole has recently been voted as one of the ‘World’s Top 500 Holes’ by Golf Magazine. After breakfast, the day will comprise a Stapleford competition, with 20 teams of four in a shotgun start on each course. The competition will be followed by a reception, dinner, raffle and auction in aid of Red Balloon.
Prizes
There will be team prizes (first three on each course) and a range of individual skill prizes on each course. As with last year you could win a car for a hole in one! There is a maximum official handicap limit of 24 for men and 36 for women and all handicaps are given at the briefing on the day.
Accommodation
Accommodation is available nearby with Woburn Inn offering special rates for bed and breakfast for players and their guests.
To enter a team
If you would like to enter a team of four at a cost of £1,000 per team, please download an application form here, complete the booking form on the last page and send it to Victoria Bunn at 7a Chesterton Mill, French’s Road, Cambridge CB4 3NP or e-mail at admin@group.rblc.org.uk.
