Red Balloon - Cambridge raises money for Macmillan Cancer Support Cambridge

The Macmillan hot chocolate morning has become a tradition at Red Balloon - Cambridge.  Every year hot chocolate, marshmallows and popcorn are organised and sold for 50p to students and staff. This year we had the pleasure of welcoming Charlotte Darlow, the fundraising manager of Macmillan Cancer Support Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, as well as Carla Pole her manager.  Carla spoke to students and staff about what her Macmillan Cancer Support does and how as little as 50p can help people who have cancer. She also talked about what cancer is and what treatments are available in the UK.  Both students and staff found the discussion very interesting and agreed that Macmillan Cancer Support is a great organisation and worth supporting though this annual event as they do a fantastic job! We are looking forward to next year’s hot chocolate morning already.
