Red Balloon Merseyside - Cambridge Visit
(Written by William aged 14)
On Thursday we went on a trip from Red Balloon Merseyside to visit the Red Balloon in Cambridge. We were very nervous about the train journey and meeting other people, but it was great. We were very lucky to get tickets for the train from a kind lady at Virgin trains and for most of us it was the first time we had travelled so far on a train. Tracy, Vicky and Kristelle, our teachers made it fun with games.
When we arrived at Cambridge we noticed loads of bikes. I had never seen so many bikes in one place. All I could think was that I wished I lived in Cambridge because I love bikes. Red Balloon Cambridge was very different in how it looked compared to our house in Liverpool. We were greeted by Sarah and Jessica and they took us to watch a presentation upstairs in the Media room. Everyone was really nice to us and I felt so at home that I asked a question after the presentation. We had a healthy and tasty lunch and then Olly and Bea showed us around the house. Olly even played the drums for us. He was great.
The presentations took place at a university which meant climbing tons of stairs but it was worth the effort. The presentations were interesting, funny and confident. I really hope that next year our presentations are as good as the ones in Cambridge.
Thank you for reading my thoughts.
