A Day at the Races in support of Red Balloon

The October Club hosted a day at Ascot Races to raise funds for Red Balloon and,in particular, Red Balloon of the Air. RBotA is a new initiative to provide internet education, as well as face-to-face counselling and support, for children who cannot go to mainstream school because of their experience of severe bullying, and are unable to attend a Red Balloon centre.

The fantastic day began with a champagne reception, and this was followed by lunch, an auction of munificent promises, including a pair of  Frankie Dettori’s jodhpurs, and then five races, one of which was the October Club Charity Handicap Stakes, generously sponsored by Newsmith Capital. Many thanks to all who organised and supported this event.
